Catalyst Semiconductor Launches Three New Families of Voltage Supervisors

January 23, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. launched three new families of voltage supervisors with what the company claims is the industry’s broadest selection of embedded memory. The CAT130xx supervisor family offers 1, 4, 8 and 16kbit embedded EEPROM with Microwire serial interface. The CAT140xx and CAT150xx provide 2, 4, 8 and 16kbit embedded EEPROM with I2C and SPI serial interface protocols, respectively.

The three new Catalyst voltage supervisor families offer seven reset threshold voltage options from 2.32 to 4.63V to support 2.5, 3, 3.3 and 5V systems. The reset function is available with either CMOS active low or CMOS active high output options.

"Catalyst is the first company to offer such an extensive range of embedded EEPROM memory and supervisor combinations," said Scott Brown, Vice President of Marketing for Catalyst Semiconductor. "Now designers have a choice of integrating a voltage supervisor with any serial EEPROM from 1kbit density up to 16kbits to achieve the exact solution needed for the specific application."

The CAT130xx, CAT140xx and CAT150xx range in price from $0.25 to $0.33 each in 10,000 piece quantities. Samples are now available and projected lead-time for production quantities is currently 6 to 8 weeks ARO.
