California Instruments Introduces Model 351TL Linear AC Power Source
California Instruments (San Diego, CA) announced the introduction of its new linear ac power source, Model 351TL, which delivers up to 400VA of ac power at frequencies ranging from 16Hz to 5,000Hz. Voltage can be adjusted from 0Vrms to 270Vrms and a programmable current limit protects the unit undertesting against over-current damage. The Model 351TL uses a linear power amplifier to generate a low-distortion output signal up to 5,000Hz. The unit is suitable for use in avionics and defense applications that require 400Hz or higher frequency power output, with very low distortion and noise requirements.
The Model 351TL’s maximum rms current is 2.9A in the 135V range or 1.5A in the 270V range. For commercial test and development applications, Model 351TL also delivers high peak-current capability to drive non-linear loads. Settings are displayed on LCD readouts that can easily be changed from the front panel using digitally encoded rotary knobs. Frequently used setups can be saved in non-volatile memory. An optional power meter module provides a range of measurements such as rms current, rms voltage, true power, power factor, crest factor and peak current.
For ATE applications (the 351TL can be equipped with the optional IEEE-488 and
housed in a 3U rack-mount chassis) the 351TL can be used as a tabletop unit or mounted in a test rack. Availability is six weeks ARO. The 351TL is priced at $4,980. The 351TL linear is CE marked for use in European countries.
