Calex Introduces New 75W Triple Output DC-DC Converter

July 22, 2007 by Jeff Shepard

Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. announced the availability of the LT Series triple output dc-dc converters. The LT triple output converters provide three fully independent and precisely regulated output voltages in a single compact package.

Output voltages range from 5 to 1.5V. Input ranges of 18 to 36Vdc and 36 to 75Vdc are available. As an example, the 24T3.2.1R5LT has an input range of 18-36Vdc and output voltages of 3.3, 2.5, and 1.5V. For each model in the LT series, all three outputs are rated for a maximum of 10A, providing many possible output loading combinations with a total output power of 75W. The LT converters are isolated input to output and output to output.

The LT is housed in an industry standard half brick package measuring 2.4" x 2.3" x 0.55". Each unit is fully encapsulated with thermally conductive potting compound and an aluminum baseplate for improved thermal performance. The baseplate operating temperature range of the LT triple output converters is -40 to +100°C. Calex offers a variety of heatsinks for extended temperature range operation. The LT is available with both RoHS and non-RoHS construction.

The LT offers energy saving features such as ON/OFF which can be controlled with positive or negative logic. The LT also provides trim capability on the output voltages to compensate for voltage drops between the converter and the load at higher current levels. All models are protected through non-latching over voltage shutdown, pulse by pulse current limiting, short circuit foldback and overtemperature shutdown protection.

The LT is available from stock to eight weeks.
