Board-Mount AC-DCs have Wide Operating Temperature Range
TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda KWS-A board-mount ac-dc power supplies. Capable of starting up at -40 degrees C, the convection cooled units will operate in ambient temperatures of up to 85 degrees C and are rated for full load over a -10 to 45/55 degrees C range (model dependent). The KWS-A series is designed for use in control and monitoring equipment in addition to a variety of industrial applications.
The encapsulated series comprises of four power levels and four output voltages - 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V. The 5W and 10W models measure 38.1 x 25.4 x 21.5mm, the 15W 50.8 x 25.4 x 24mm and the 25W models 63.5 x 25.4 x 29mm. Rated for Class II operation, the KWS-A requires no earth ground connection.
The KWS-A series accepts an input voltage of 85 to 265Vac, 47 to 440Hz, and requires no external fuses or electrolytic capacitors. Efficiencies are up to 88% and have an off-load power draw of less than 0.5W.
Input to output isolation is 3kVac, with all models certified to UL/CSA 60950-1, IEC/EN 60950-1 and carrying the CE mark for the Low Voltage and RoHS2 Directives. All units meet EN55011/EN55022-A and FCC-A conducted and radiated emissions (class B with the addition of a small X-capacitor) and IEC 61000-6-2 and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
