Beta Dyne Intros PowerWatt 40W DC Converter
Beta Dyne Inc. (Bridgewater, MA) announced a new member of its PowerWatt family of dc/dc converters, a series of 40W dc/dc converters that feature an industry-standard pinout in a 2.3in x 0.78in x 0.38in, one-eighth-brick package. A unique feature of the new converter is its 25µs transient response that approaches that of non-isolated, step-down converters. Patented technology coupled with SMD and planar magnetics makes it possible to offer a converter with 60W/in³ power density.
Standard features include efficiency up to 91 percent, 150µA off-state current, thermal and under-voltage protection, output synchronous rectification, a 2:1 input-voltage range, input-to-output isolation, soft-start, external synchronization, and short-circuit protection. The converter is suitable for electronic data processing, instrumentation, industrial, medical, communications, computers and fiber optics.
Units are available in four to six weeks ARO. Pricing is $48.30 each in OEM quantities.
