Belkin Launches Line of SOHO UPSs

Belkin (Compton, CA) introduced its next generation of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) products designed for small office and home office (SOHO) environments. The new UPSs are designed to protect data and equipment against lightning, surges, spikes, sags, brownouts and other power disturbances. The new UPSs are offered in both the Home Office Series and the Universal Series, which offer three models per category.

The Home Office UPSs feature eight outlets that ground ac power through eight surge-protected outlets, four of which provide battery backup. The Sentry Bulldog Shutdown Software manages computer shutdown in the event of a power failure, and provides diagnostic support.

The Belkin Universal UPSs feature six outlets that ground ac power through six surge-protected outlets, four of which provide battery backup. Combination USB and RS232 (serial) ports offer fast communication through USB or RS232 ports, along with expandability and easy installation. Sentry Bulldog Plus Shutdown Software manages the UPS units over a LAN and sends emergency alerts via e-mail, pagers or SkyTel telecommunications devices. In addition, automatic voltage regulation offers a higher level of power protection, provides "clean" power, and regulates both surges and dips in power.

The Home Office UPSs include the 350VA F6H350-SER priced at $39.99, which offers 15 minutes of backup time, 190W of power and 510J of surge protection; the 500VA F6H500-SER priced at $59.99, which offers 28 minutes of backup time, 300W of power and 510J of surge protection; and the 650VA F6H650-SER priced at $79.99, which offers 35 minutes of backup time, 360W of power and 510J of surge protection.

The Universal UPSs include the 800VA F6H800-UNV priced at $119.99, which features 45 minutes of backup time, 450W of power and 890J of surge protection; the 1,000VA F6C100-UNV priced at $139.99, which features 75 minutes of backup time, 550W of power and 890J of surge protection; and the 1,200VA F6C120-UNV priced at $159.99, which features 100 minutes of backup time, 670W of power and 890J of surge protection.
