AVX Introduces New Super-Low ESR Capacitor

New Products May 11, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

AVX Corp. introduced a new series of Niobium Oxide (NbO) – Ceramic Multianode Chip Capacitors. The CoreCap NPV Series offers low ESR, high ripple current absorption, safety and reliability. The NPV Series meets all RoHS requirements and will operate in any lead-free assembly systems with up to three times reflow with 260°C peak temperature. They are suitable for power management decoupling and dc-dc converter filtering for applications in telecom-networking, servers, embedded computer systems and notebook computers.

"The new NPV Series of capacitors are part of the new wave of multianode chip capacitors," said Dan Lane, AVX Tantalum Marketing Manager. "These new capacitors meet all RoHS requirements, while still providing our customers with super-low ESR and the high performance they expect from AVX capacitors."

The NPV Series of CoreCap capacitors offer one of the lowest ESR rates on the market at <3mΩ. The capacitance range is 560µF with a capacitance tolerance of ±20%. This NbO-Ceramic capacitor series has a temperature range -55°C to +105°C with category voltage. The CoreCap Series Capacitors are available on standard 7" and 13" reels.

Pricing for the CoreCap NPV Series Chip Capacitors starts at $1.28 in quantities of 10,000 pieces. Delivery is from stock to 10 weeks
