Astec Power Intros AEQ15 DC/DC Converter

April 17, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Astec Power (Carlsbad, CA) debuted its newest industry-standard, dual-output, quarter-brick, dc/dc converter, the AEQ15AF48, which features 5V and 3.3V outputs. The 5V output can deliver a maximum of 12A while the 3.3V can deliver up to 15A. With an operating efficiency near 90 percent, the AEQ15 delivers 60W of output power, in any combination demanded by the two loads.

The AEQ15 utilizes baseplate construction and planar magnetics and can be used with a heatsink for deployment in harsh environments, or as a free-standing, open-frame device. The AEQ15 features a wide input-voltage range of 36V to 75V; a ±10-percent output-voltage, trim-adjustment capability; an industry-standard, cross-regulation performance, a positive or negative logic-enable, input-control pin; under-voltage lockout with hysteresis; and over-temperature, over-current and over-voltage protection. The operating baseplate temperature range of the unit is -40 to +105 degrees C.

Pricing starts from $72 each in 1,000-piece quantities. Samples are available now.
