Ascom Launches BMP Series DC/DC Converters

Ascom Energy Systems GmbH (Switzerland), a division of Ascom Group, announced that it is expanding its product portfolio with industry-standard, form-fit-function, agency-approved, board-mounted power (BMP) products, which consist of several different product lines of ultra-high-efficient dc/dc converters from 3W to 200W. The new converters are suitable for telecom, industrial automation, and computer/server use and design-in applications.

The new CW3, CW6 and CX10 product families are 3W to 10W power modules with a 1in x 2in industry-compatible form factor and feature

wide input ranges of 9V to 36V and 18V to 75V (single- or dual-output voltage); remote on/off functions and continuous short-circuit protection; case temperatures from -40 to +100 degrees C; a MTBF >2.6M hours; and current limiting and trim function.

The new open-frame XENA 15 Family features up to 15W of output power; 36Vdc to 75Vdc input voltage; single outputs from 1.2Vdc to 3.3Vdc; up to 5A or 13W of output power; efficiency at full load of 90 percent; low profiles of 8.5mm (0.335in); and remote on/off, current limiting, trim function and over-voltage protection.

The Xena open-frame 50-100-200 brick family offers up to 200W of output power; 36Vdc to 75Vdc input voltage; single outputs from 1.2Vdc to 5Vdc; proprietary planar magnetics; one-eighth brick (25A), one-fourth brick (40A) and one-half brick (80A) industry-compatible footprints; efficiency at full load of 90 percent; low profiles of 8.5mm (0.335in); remote on/off, current limiting, sense lines, trim function and over-voltage protection; and operating temperature ranges from between -40 and +100 degrees C.
