Artesyn Launches New DDR12 POL Converter

New Products Nov 24, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Artesyn Technologies Inc. (Boca Raton, FL) has launched its new dual-output, non-isolated, point-of-load (POL) converter for double-data-rate (DDR) memory. Known as the DDR12, the converter is specifically designed to provide an all-in-one power solution for use in 1U-high, rack-mount applications, including workstations, servers and communications infrastructure equipment, as well as general-purpose computing and industrial applications.

The new DDR12 dual-output POL converter features synchronous rectification techniques; a high conversion efficiency of 85 percent; a 2.5V VDDQ output that can deliver up to 25A; a 1.25V VTT output that can deliver up to 8A; a trimmable voltage from 90 to 110 percent of nominal value; a nominal 12V supply rail; a wide input range from 10.8Vdc to 13.2Vdc; a fast 8A/µs transient response; over-voltage protection; over-current protection, remote on/off facilities; a power-good output signal; an above-board height of 1.2in; a small footprint of 3.0in x 0.51in; and an operational temperature range of 0 to 80 degrees C with derating.

Pricing for the DDR12 dual-output POL converters in 10,000-piece quantities is $16.75, and the standard lead time is stock to six to eight weeks.
