Advanced Power Components plc (APC, UK) unveiled its new CB Series of PCB-mountable dc/dc converters, which are intended for industrial, military and aerospace applications. Featuring full environmental stress screening, the dc/dc converters are specified to operate at case temperatures ranging from -55 to +100 degrees C.
The converters function via a wide input range from 16Vdc to 40Vdc, and deliver tightly regulated outputs of 2Vdc, 3.3Vdc, 5Vdc, 5.2Vdc, 12Vdc and 15Vdc at efficiency ratings >80 percent. The model CB5 is a 5W single-output device with a footprint of 25mm x 25mm and a profile <10mm, allowing for high-density card spacing. The model CB10 is a 10W dual-output converter that has two independent output channels, making it suitable for low-power applications such as mixed-logic systems requiring 2Vdc and 3.3Vdc voltages. Standard features include remote on/off logic with over-voltage and short-circuit protection.
