Analog Devices Unveils AD590 Temperature Sensors

December 11, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Analog Devices Inc. (Wilmington, MA) introduced its new AD590 temperature sensor in an eight-pin, SOIC package, which is a two-terminal integrated circuit temperature transducer that produces an output current proportional to absolute temperature over a broad temperature range of -55 to +125 degrees C. For supply voltages between +4V and +30V, the device acts as a high-impedance, constant-current regulator passing 1µA/k.

Samples of the AD590 in the SOIC package are available now with full production scheduled for the spring of 2003. Pricing for the SOIC package is $1.50 per unit in 1,000-piece quantities. The AD590 in its original “metal can” or TO-52 package is priced at $3.47 per unit in 1,000-piece quantities.
