American Power Conversion Announces Smart-UPS 3kVA XL

American Power Conversion (APC, West Kingston, RI) announced it has added a 3kVA extended-run (XL) model to its Smart-UPS line of uninterruptible power supplies. Designed to support the needs of rack-optimized servers, the new rack-mount Smart-UPS 3kVA XL provides a centrally-managed and scalable power protection solution capable of supporting a fully-loaded rack.

Features include user-replaceable and upgradeable batteries, automatic voltage regulation, and easier integration within the data center environment. The Smart-UPS 3kVA XL ships with mounting rails and is available in black to match the color of newer servers. The UPS also ships with APC's PowerChute plus software, which performs automatic, unattended system shutdown, as well as important diagnostic and remote-management features.

APC's Smart-UPS 3kVA XL is available in both 120V and 230V versions, with world-wide shipping beginning in the second quarter of 2001.
