Allegro MicroSystems Intros Four New LNBRs

December 17, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Allegro MicroSystems Inc. (Worcester, MA) announced the release of four new low-noise, block voltage regulators (LNBRs) for satellite set-top box systems. Designed to future-proof set-top designs, the devices feature legacy system compatibility and offer the flexibility of two-way DiSEqCTM communications.

Intended for analog and digital satellite receivers, the efficient LNBR family consists of monolithic-linear and switching-voltage regulators, specifically designed to provide both power and interface signals to the LNB down-converter via the coaxial cable.

The new LNBR family is manufactured using Allegro’s Allegro Bipolar CMOS DMOS 3rd generation (ABCD3) process, and is supplied in either a standard 24-lead or 16-lead SOIC package. Depending on the version, the 828x family of LNBR devices is priced from $1.47 to $1.91 per part for quantities of 1,000.
