Alcatel Launches AQ 75 SI Series DC/DC Converters

October 08, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Alcatel Converters (Lannion, France) announced the launch of its new AQ 75 SI Series of quarter-brick, dc/dc converters, which are suitable for telecom, industrial and distributed power architectures that have low-voltage requirements. The AQ 75 SI Series draws power from a 48V nominal input and features overload protection in the event of a short-circuit or system overload. Other options include a remote on/off feature with a negative logic input option and an output-voltage adjust.

The AQ 75 SI Series comes in the industry-standard, quarter-brick format of 2.28in x 1.45in x 0.32in for fitting into densely packed electronic systems. The pin-through-hole design is also industry standard. No heatsink is required for the open-frame power modules, which operate over the full temperature range of -40 to +120 degrees C and provide 90 percent efficiency at 20A. The converters have a wide input-voltage range of 36V to 75V, with output voltages of 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V.

Manufactured in ISO-certified facilities, the AQ 75 SI Series is tested to EN 60950 for basic insulation. Large-quantity pricing for the AQ 75 SI Series is $55.
