Advanced Power Releases 100W Half Brick Converter With Synchronized Operation Function

August 17, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Advanced Power Solutions (APS) announced the release of their APS100DMA series of tiny 100W half brick dc-dc converters with synchronized operation to ensure all units on the same board operate at the same switching frequency for reduced noise operation.

The APS100DMA series utilizes the active clamp forward topology with synchronous rectification to provide a 100W half brick dc-dc converter in a full encapsulated package with a 6-side shield for improved EMI performance. The converter operates at a fixed 230KHz frequency; a 36~78Vdc input range; -40~+85°C operating temperature range; and a typical efficiency of 84%.

The series consists of three output models offering 3.3/5/12Vdc outputs and up to 100W output power. These converters feature over voltage/over current/over temperature protection circuits; Class B emissions; international safety approvals (UL60950-1 / CB / C-Tick / BSMI / TUV / CE Mark); and meet EN55022 Class B emission standards.

Evaluation quantities are on-hand with production deliveries of less than 8 weeks. Pricing is as low as $54.00 in 1,000 piece quantities.
