Absopulse Releases MIP150 Series DC/DC Converter

October 22, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Absopulse Electronics (Carp, Ontario, Canada) recently released its MIP150 Series of dc/dc converters, which provide a complete, 150W power solution in a compact 2.4in x 5.8in x 1.5in chassis. It features integrated filtering, hold-up capacitors, high efficiency and reliability, and a switching frequency of 160KHz. The converter was designed for operation in harsh environmental conditions, with conduction-cooled power components, minimal component count and generous headroom.

The MIP150 delivers regulated, single dc outputs of 24V, 36V, 42V or 72V from 36Vdc, 48Vdc, 72Vdc or 125Vdc inputs. The modules can also be configured into complex, multiple-output, dc/dc systems with low additional NRE. Options including encapsulation in a thermally conductive MIL spec compound, ruggedizing, conformal coating and extended temperature make the MIP150 well suited for marine, mining, railway, military, industrial and other heavy-duty applications.

The basic MIP150 is priced at $134 for quantities of 100.
