August 15, 2019 by Paul Shepard

Green Watt Power, a division of FSP-Powerland Technology, Inc. announced the EVC-600 series of fully-potted, ruggedized ac-dc chargers for Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. The EVC-600 series is specifically designed to charge lithium-ion battery systems in motorcycles, scooters, carts, fork lifts and other mobile applications.

The series has six different models for charging various batteries starting from output voltages as low as 24V to a high of 133V. The standard overall dimensions are 8.2x4.3x3.0” (209x110x75mm) and includes a handle for easy portability. The units are designed for high-power density and thermal efficiency. They  include a fan and weigh 2.7kG.

CAN bus communication is a standard feature for unit status and control and the charger has universal input range of 90- to 264-Vac, able to handle wide range standard of worldwide wall power input voltages and frequencies. The input frequency is 47- to 63-Hz.

Efficiency is up to 94% depending on the input voltage. The power factor is 0.99 at 110Vac input and 0.97 at 220Vac input. The turn-on delay at full load is 3s max.  Each unit is protected by short circuit protection with auto recovery, over voltage protection and over temperature protection.

The operating temperature range of the EVC600 is -20°C to +50°C. The storage range is -25°C to +85°C. The unit is rated for IP65 for the enclosure. The EVC is designed to meet UL1564 and CE and EN55032 Class B. If needed, Green Watt Power can modify the unit as needed to meet each application’s unique requirements.

Units are available from stock to 8 weeks.
