Voller Energy Receives CE Certification for VE100 Fuel Cell

June 21, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Voller Energy Group plc (UK), a manufacturer of portable fuel cells, announced that it has received CE certification for the latest generation of its VE100 portable fuel cell system. The company believes that this is the first time that a product of this type has been CE certified, and sets a new standard for hand-portable fuel cells that produce both mains output (230 V in Europe and 110 V for North America), and work from internal canisters of stored hydrogen. The VE100 produces no toxic emissions, the only output is pure water.

To validate the certification the unit had to undergo rigorous testing in controlled conditions while working at full power using the internal hydrogen supply. This included EN55014 Category 4 tests for radio-frequency immunity, and compliance testing to EN55022 for radio-frequency emissions.
