October 16: Live Webcast on the California Fuel Cell Partnership's Roadmap to the Commercialization of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles

The Energy Department will present a live webcast titled California Fuel Cell Partnership's Roadmap to the Commercialization of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles on October 16, 2012, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. This webinar will focus on a road map which identifies a need for 68 strategically-placed hydrogen stations in California by January 2016. Now available on the California Fuel Cell Partnership's website, the road map represents a collaborative and collective effort by stakeholders from industry, academia, non-governmental organizations and government to design a pragmatic road map for hydrogen station placement, enabling the deployment of tens of thousands of fuel cell electric vehicles in California. CaFCP is a collaboration of organizations, including auto manufacturers, energy providers, government agencies and fuel cell technology companies, that work together to promote the commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

October 22, 2012: Live Webcast on the Renewable Energy Competency Model

The Energy Department will present a live webcast titled Renewable Energy Competency Model: An Aide to Build a Renewable Energy Skilled Workforce on Monday, October 22, 2012, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. In order to deploy new renewable energy technologies, U.S. workers will need to have the skills to produce, install, maintain, and service these technologies. This webcast will benefit renewable energy industry workforce professionals and employers, as well as community colleges and universities interested in learning how this model can help train skilled workers for renewable energy industry jobs, and how it can be expanded for specific industry use. The Renewable Energy Competency Model was developed by the U.S. Department of Labor with active input from the U.S. Department of Energy's technology experts, along with partners from the postsecondary education field and the renewable energy industry, to identify the crosscutting competencies needed for workers in the renewable energy sector.
