Taiyo Yuden Releases RF Component Library

November 24, 2003 by Jeff Shepard

Ansoft Corp. (Pittsburgh, PA) announced the release of a new device library for Ansoft Designer™ based on Taiyo Yuden® high-density, miniaturized, surface-mount components. The component library, free to Ansoft Designer customers, will help engineers designing electronic equipment, such as wireless local area networks, car navigation systems, base stations and cellular handsets, by providing accurate electrical responses and mechanical layout features for manufacturing.

The library consists of three principle, passive, surface-mount components: capacitors, ferrite beads and multi-layer inductors. The new capacitor library features components that offer excellent Q values over 1GHz. The small 0402 case size and tight dimension tolerances are suitable for high-density mounting. The parts are used in high-frequency, portable communication applications where high Q values and small size are needed. The new library also includes the HK Series of high Q-value, multi-layer chip inductors, which reduce electromagnetic interference; increase battery life; and improve overall efficiency in cell phones, pagers, notebook PCs and other products employing high-frequency circuits.

The library is available from Taiyo Yuden's website and is easily downloaded and configured for use within Ansoft Designer.
