Sustainable Energy Announces Production Start Up in Europe

May 15, 2006 by Jeff Shepard

Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd. ("Sustainable Energy" - TSXV: "STG") announced that its partner, Gabriel Benmayor SA, has begun manufacturing SUNERGY inverters at their production facility near Barcelona, Spain.

The first product to be made in Spain is a 5kW grid-interactive inverter for the Spanish grid-connected solar power market. The SUNERGY "5" is well suited to the Spanish environment, as it operates at full power over extended periods of time and in ambient temperatures in excess of 500 C. Its patented approach to power conversion also enables the inverter to maintain very high electrical conversion efficiencies at full power, notwithstanding variable voltage inputs from the solar modules.

With the introduction of premium pricing for solar power effective April 1, 2005, Spain has become one of the fastest growing solar power markets in the world. The production facility has the capacity to assemble and test up to 100 units per month. Production capacity can be expanded with minimal incremental capital cost.
