October 12, 2009 by Jeff Shepard

Powervation has named veteran power-conversion executive, Stephen Allen as Vice President of Global Sales. Allen joins the company from National Semiconductor’s Advanced Power Technology Group, where he served as Director of Strategic Business Development and Marketing, and promoted the adoption of leading-edge adaptive voltage scaling technology by top ASIC, SoC and FPGA companies. He reports to CEO, Antoin Russell and will drive the company’s global sales operations from his base in Silicon Valley.

"Stephen brings more than 25 years of international sales, marketing and business development experience in the power-conversion field," said Russell. "This includes large systems, modules and semiconductors – prime markets for Powervation’s technology. He joins us at an exciting juncture. Interest in our first product, the PV3002, is steadily mounting and the chip is already slated for utilization in digital point-of-load modules currently being developed by CUI Inc.’s power division V-Infinity. We’re looking forward to benefiting from Stephen’s experience as we bring additional products to market."

Prior to National Semiconductor, Allen was Vice President, Worldwide Sales at Enpirion, Inc. where he built the company’s power-conversion business from start-up. Before that, he held executive sales, marketing and business development positions at Power-One (also Melcher AG), including Vice President of Sales for Asia and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for North Europe. Throughout his career, he has sold into multiple markets, ranging from networking, telecommunications and computing, to high-volume consumer, industrial and military applications.
