December 19, 2010 by Jeff Shepard

Power Distribution Inc. (PDI), a provider of mission critical power distribution equipment for data centers, announced that it has promoted Rob Sweaney to President and CEO. Sweaney brings over 20 years of leadership experience to the position and will continue to grow PDI’s forward momentum in the mission critical data center and alternative energy areas. Sweaney was promoted to President and CEO last week by PDI’s Board of Directors and will report directly to chairman of the board, Rich Combs.

The announcement comes at the heels of the launch of PDI’s innovative new modular data center product, i-CON, a flexible, energy efficient solution designed for today’s complex IT environments and allowing reduced infrastructure costs.

"Rob Sweaney brings results-driven and people-focused leadership qualities to PDI. Rob’s passion for success and proven track record at PDI over the years made our decision to promote him an easy one," said Rich Combs, chairman of the board of directors for PDI. "Rob has been with PDI for over fourteen years and has been a pivotal part of its growth. We look forward to PDI’s continued success."

Over the past 14 years, Sweaney has helped grow and shape PDI into a leading power distribution equipment manufacturer, holding various leadership positions such as VP of Operations and COO. Prior to PDI, Sweaney worked at Compair for eight years as a plant manager for their VA start up operation.

Sweaney will continue to expand PDI by focusing on increasing staff and services. "People are the most important part of this company and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the best in the business," said Rob Sweaney, President and CEO at PDI. "Our main goal is to continue to provide our customers with the most cost-effective, energy efficient power systems available today."
