Paice Presents New Hyperdrive HEV Powertrain

January 01, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Paice Corp. (Livonia, MI) announced two new Hyperdrive automotive powertrains. The Hyperdrive is an advanced hybrid gas-electric vehicle powertrain, which uses high-voltage and high-power semiconductors, high-horsepower electric motors, a highly efficient and low-cost lead-acid battery system, and an internal combustion engine sized for maximum efficiency.

"Our technology presents the opportunity to dramatically reduce dependence on foreign oil imports on the order of magnitude of millions of barrels per day,” said Alex Severinsky, chairman and CEO of Paice. “This fact has profound implications for our nation's security and for our future relations with oil-producing nations.”
