O2Micro Ltd. (Santa Clara, CA) has been granted US Patent 6,259,615 for the 42 claims relating to its Intelligent Inverter family of products. The Adaptive Learning Inverter controller, for which the patent was issued, provides high-efficiency power conversion at a fixed frequency using a zero-voltage-switching technique.
"This significant patented technology alleviates the complexity of a single-stage inverter design and provides the industry with a high-efficiency, designer-friendly inverter controller," said Dr. Yung Lin, vice president of the intelligent inverter group.
This latest patent brings O2Micro's overall patent count to 268, with 400 more pending.
