NTT Data Enables Cross-Provider EV Charging with Europe’s Intercharge

The OCC (Open Charging Station Controller) charging management system developed by the Japanese-headquartered IT services provider NTT Data was certified today by the German Hubject GmbH for provider-independent charging of electric vehicles. Using NTT DATA's technology, charging station operators can now easily offer third-party providers the possibility to charge electric vehicles in the European marketplace of Hubject called "intercharge".

NTT Data has been heavily involved in the area of emobility and intermodal applications since 2009, offering IT services for electromobility. As a result of the cooperation with Hubject, intercharge eRoaming capabilities were added to the OCC charging system. Charging stations managed by OCC can thus easily and safely serve customers of third-party providers. Hubject certifies this capability with the “Certified eRoaming System” label. This constitutes a cornerstone toward achieving a simple and user-friendly charging station infrastructure.
