MTI MicroFuel Cells Inc. (Albany, NY), a subsidiary of Mechanical Technology Inc., announced that it has received United Nations packaging certification, and is now in US Department of Transportation compliance for shipment of its methanol fuel cartridges, supporting its initial product launch planned by the end of the year. Authorized shippers can now transport MTI Micro's fuel refills by ground, sea and air, both domestically and internationally.
"From the outset of our company's formation, building and delivering products that meet or exceed customer expectations for performance and safety has been our goal," said MTI Micro President and CEO William Acker. "Agency certification for our fuel refills, in support of our initial Mobion power pack launch scheduled later this year, is a significant and necessary step on our path to deliver safe, highly functional portable power solutions for military, industrial and future consumer electronics markets."
