MGE UPS Announces Formation of Facility Solutions Alliance

March 07, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

MGE UPS (Costa Mesa, CA) announced the formation of its Facility Solutions Alliance (FSA) with industrial leaders in order to support mission-critical networks and facility operations with power, environmental control and monitoring systems. The FSA claims to be the first organization of its kind and represents some of the industry's strongest companies coming together in one group to offer an integrated solution for data, voice and video communications operations.

The FSA intends to provide customers with a single point-of-contact for one-stop facility design, integration, purchasing and service. The FSA technical support group will assist customers in identifying the right equipment for their given application and will then assist with installation at customer sites. Working with the FSA, facility managers and network administrators will be provided with technical support, maintenance and service to help ensure 24/7 operations. In addition, the FSA will offer a wide range of financial options, including purchase and/or lease programs.

Besides MGE UPS, members of the FSA include Albercorp, Cummins Onan, EFI Electronics, PowerLogic, Square D Co., and Stultz North America. In the future, more partners are planned to be added to the FSA to offer expanded services, including facility site monitoring and management and dc power plants.

“While protecting the majority of large industrial and Internet companies, we've learned that customers ideally want to deal with one reliable source for all of their power, control and monitoring systems," commented David Derambakhsh, MGE's director for the FSA project. “These customers want to focus on their core business and not worry about what type of equipment they need, will it all work together and will there be someone to service and maintain it all. The FSA represents the industry's foremost suppliers of superior power management, monitoring and control systems all under one umbrella."
