International Rectifier Opens New Manufacturing Facility in China

Power-management semiconductor firm International Rectifier Corp. (IR, El Segundo, CA) opened its new manufacturing facility in Xi'an, China, on October 13, 2005. The new assembly and test facility will manufacture power-management components needed to support the world's growing requirement for power supplies and intelligent motion control. In addition to the new manufacturing facility, the company maintains design and applications centers in Xi'an, a trading company in Shanghai, and multiple sales offices throughout China.

IR Executive Vice President of Operations Walt Lifsey stated, "The electronics manufacturing industry is growing rapidly in China as is International Rectifier's customer base in the region. Our new facility in Xi'an will allow us to better serve these customers as well as our customers throughout the world."
