Infineon Technologies AG (Germany) announced that it plans to acquire the 13 percent minority holding in its 300 mm Dresden, Germany, subsidiary for about $343 million. Financing will come from the creation of 27 million new shares through a capital increase in kind. Now that the contractual conditions allow Infineon to acquire the minority holdings and the 300 mm facilities are fully operational, the company said it will take sole control of the unit, dubbed Infineon Technologies SC300 GmbH & Co.
