September 20, 2001 by Jeff Shepard

Hydrogenics Corp. (Mississauga, Ontario) announced that Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (Japan) has selected Hydrogenics' FCATS test systems to support expanding fuel cell research activities at the Nissan Research Center in Kanagawa, Japan. This first-time order totals approximately CDN$1.1 million.

Hydrogenics' Japan branch office in Tokyo has been expanded to enable after-sales service for regional customers. The development of this capability played an important role in securing the order.

"We are pleased that Nissan has recognized the quality of Hydrogenics' FCATS test systems. We welcome the opportunity to build and develop this new relationship," said Pierre Rivard, president and CEO of Hydrogenics. "Our FCATS sales philosophy is to combine our sophisticated fuel cell equipment with strong after-sales service to create further business opportunities as well as valued relationships. We fully anticipate this will be the case with our newest customer."
