December 01, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

GE Jenbacher (Jenbach, Austria), a division of GE Energy (Atlanta, GA), a leading supplier of power generation and energy delivery technology, has received its first order in Romania from the Romanian Industrial Energy Efficiency Co. for two Jenbacher JMC 312 GS-N.LC cogeneration systems that will be used by pharmaceuticals firm Sicomed SA (Bucharest, Austria) to generate power and heat.

Sicomed will utilize the electricity generated by the engines at its facility. Heat from the Jenbacher systems will be used in the production process and for building heating. For the power plant, GE Jenbacher is providing two containerized cogeneration units, along with the cooling, silencer and exhaust systems. The cogeneration systems are to be shipped and installed in December 2004, and scheduled to begin commercial operation in February 2005.
