Ford Announces NEV Production at Detroit Plant

Ford Motor Co. (Dearborn, MI) announced production of its Th!nk neighbor electric vehicles (NEV) at its TruMack Assembly Detroit Chassis Plant (DCP) in Detroit. The automaker will introduce the zero-emission Th!nk neighbor at Ford dealerships in selected markets nationwide, with the first shipment headed to California. A new production line for manufacturing the Th!nk neighbor at DCP over the course of 10 months has been developed. The automaker expects to produce as many as 10,000 vehicles per year at the 218,000sqft facility.

"The Th!nk neighbor is another first for Ford Motor Company in the area of developing sustainable transportation," said Ford President and CEO Jacques Nasser.
