Ener1 Appoints Subhash Dhar as President

Ener1, Inc. announced that Subhash Dhar has joined the company as its President. Dhar previously was the President of Ovonic Battery Company Inc. & Chief Operating Officer of Ovonic Fuel Cell Company Inc., both divisions of Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. Dhar led the pioneering efforts of Ovonic Battery’s commercialization of Ni-MH batteries for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. He was the proponent and an architect of COBASYS, the Joint Venture between Energy Conversion Devices and Chevron Corp.. At Ener1, Inc. Dhar will be responsible for overall management, strategic direction and operations of the company including its subsidiaries. Dhar has been a consultant to Ener1 since December 2006.

Ener1’s CEO, Dr. Peter Novak, stated, "Subhash’s experience, leadership, vision and industry knowledge will add immeasurably to our alternative energy product capabilities and commercialization strategies. Subhash will lead our efforts to accelerate the development of commercial products in our lithium ion battery, fuel cells and advanced materials technology businesses."
