Emerson Network Power Intros Liebert IntelliRack

May 11, 2004 by Jeff Shepard

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (St. Louis, MO), introduced the Liebert IntelliRack, an intelligent interface that connects a Liebert uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system to multiple computers or servers. Using IntelliRack, a single UPS can execute a controlled shutdown of multiple connected computer systems in the event that a power outage exceeds UPS battery capacity.

The IntelliRack module fits in 1U of rack space and can connect up to 20 computers or servers running different operating systems to a Liebert UPS system. Multiple IntelliRack modules can be daisy-chained to further extend UPS protection. IntelliRack utilizes Liebert MultiLink software, a monitoring and shutdown system, and can also use built-in shutdown utilities included in Windows and AS/400. MultiLink is installed on the host computer and monitors UPS performance, including battery status.

IntelliRack is compatible with the complete line of Liebert UPSs, including Liebert PowerSure, Liebert GXT, Liebert Nfinity, Liebert Npower and Liebert NX models.
