CUI Global Included in the Russell Microcap Index

June 28, 2012 by Jeff Shepard

CUI Global, Inc. announced that it has been added to the Russell Microcap® Index. The company became a member of the Russell Investments family of U.S. indexes upon their official reconstitution, made effective as of the market open on Monday, June 25, 2012.

The Russell Microcap Index is a highly regarded index that is proactively used by investment managers as well as institutional investors. It serves as a benchmark for investment strategies, covering investable markets across 48 countries for more than 10,000 securities.

Membership in the Russell Microcap Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the appropriate growth and value style indexes. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

"CUI Global’s addition to this highly respected Index is another milestone for the company," explained CUI Global’s president & CEO, William Clough. "Much like our listing on the Wilshire 5000 Index earlier this year, inclusion in the Russell Microcap Index will enhance awareness of CUI Global to a larger number of institutions and investors by increasing the visibility of our company."

"This listing also marks a key point in the company’s history because it demonstrates recognition by the Russell Microcap Index of our growth and value components. The Russell Index is an important and more critically weighted index that examines trends in relatively smaller companies. Listings on the Wilshire 5000 Index and the Russell Microcap Index continue our strategic goal of building a larger shareholder base to increase volume, awareness, and, thereby, share value," Clough concluded.
