February 22, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Ceres Power Holdings PLC (Bristol, UK), a developer of a core fuel cell product focused on the global distributed power generation market, announced that it has been awarded a £1.9 million contract from the UK Department of Trade and Industry, as part of the government's commitment to support the development of low-carbon technologies.

The AIM-listed fuel cell company reported that the program, where it is leading a consortium of other contributors, will explore fuel cell stack and system designs, which may help further reduce manufacturing costs and deliver more compact, lightweight commercial solutions.
