BI Technologies Offers Free SOT-23 Sample Kits

July 31, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

BI Technologies (Fullerton, CA), a subsidiary of TT electronics plc (Patterson, NJ), has developed an engineering sample kit of its SOT-23 packaged precision voltage divider networks. Designated the SS1 Series, the divider networks consist of two ultra-stable nichrome thin-film resistors on silicon substrates, connected in series within a standard plastic SOT-23 lead package. The divider network sample kits are comprised of four sets of 10 devices each.

The specifications for the networks in the sample kit include for the SOT-23 divider (12.4 kW/20 kW resistance values with absolute tolerances to 0.5 percent/ratio tolerance to 0.1 percent and TCR of ±25 ppm/°C), the SOT-23 divider (10 kW/100 kW resistance values with absolute tolerances to 0.5 percent/ratio tolerance to 0.1 percent and TCR of ±25 ppm/°C), the SOT-23 divider (5 kW/20 kW resistance values with absolute tolerances to 0.5 percent/ratio tolerance to 0.1 percent and TCR of ±25 ppm/°C), and the SOT-23 divider (20 kW/20 kW resistance values with absolute tolerances to 0.5 percent/ratio tolerance to 0.1 percent and TCR of ±25 ppm/°C).

"The smaller, two-resistor network gives design engineers the flexibility to place the network anywhere on the circuit board," said Electronic Component Division Applications Engineer and Product Marketing Manager Mike Torres. "With the sample kits, the engineers can have the ability to try out different circuit layouts in the prototyping or breadboard phase of their design."
