Arctic Sand Technologies has announced the opening of a new corporate headquarters in Burlington, MA, a new power IC design center in Santa Clara, CA and a sales, applications engineering and customer support center in Taiwan. The announcement came during the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC 2016).

Comments Arctic Sand Technologies’ CEO Gary Davison: “With multiple product launches on the horizon to complement our industry leading LED drivers, our business is expanding into a new phase. Our new headquarters, design and sales facilities will better assure our global reach; enabling us to deploy our engineering, marketing and sales talent to fully exploit the massive potential of our game changing power conversion technologies.”

Following on from this week’s announcement of the ARC1C0608 LED boost converter – the most efficient thinnest and smallest LED driver IC on the market for tablet / mobile computing applications – the company will soon introduce further LED boost converters targeting Ultrabooks and smartphones, and is developing a family of class leading tiny and efficient buck regulators aimed at ultra-portable, computing and data center applications.

An MIT spin-out initially funded in January 2013, the company’s growing issued patent trove includes three exclusively-licensed MIT patents co-authored by Arctic Sand’s founder and Chief Scientist David Giuliano. Arctic Sand’s TIPS™ (Transformative Integrated Power Solution) architecture establishes a new, extreme efficiency power conversion solution that dramatically reduces the amount of inductance necessary thus enabling ultra-low profile solutions with - best in industry power conversion efficiency.
