APC, Select Energy Enter Alliance

American Power Conversion Corp. (APC, West Kingston, RI) has entered a strategic alliance with Select Energy), the unregulated energy and energy services affiliate of Northeast Utilities (Berlin, CT), to increase power availability and computer uptime for the residential, commercial and industrial marketplace. As a result of the alliance, Select Energy will offer APC's power protection products and services to Select Energy's customers throughout the Northeast."As one of the area's leading energy companies, Select Energy is very familiar with the harmful impact that uncontrollable circumstances such as downed trees, severe weather, and building wiring can have on power availability and the performance of sensitive electronics," stated Kim Barnes, APC marketing manager, vertical markets. "This partnership between Select Energy and APC will enable Select Energy's customers to conveniently access APC's innovative and comprehensive 'best-of-breed' solutions to protect their sensitive electronics and IT equipment from unplanned power disturbances." Beginning immediately, Select Energy will offer APC uninterruptible power supplies and services to its customers. APC's PowerAudit services will also supplement Select Energy's existing power diagnostic offerings.
