Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary Richard Kneeland transitions into a part-time advisory role and Chris Brown enters the Allegro MicroSystems team as his successor.

Ravi Vig, President, and CEO of Allegro have been working with Richard for 13 years as General Counsel and a member of the executive team. Together, the duo was responsible for successfully transforming the global operating structure of the company and for securing a new stakeholder in the form of One Equity Partners. In July of this year, Richard announced that he would be transitioning to a part-time advisory role on the executive leadership team, where he will be reporting directly to the CEO. Prior to this transition, Richard has dedicated himself to the management of Allegro’s legal and corporate governance since he first joined the company in 1972.

“The Board of Directors and I appreciate Rich’s ongoing leadership and advisement, and I’d like to thank Rich for his many contributions, particularly in enhancing our governance and growing our intellectual property portfolio. Because of his efforts, our legal function is poised for future success”, said Ravi in a recent news release

Chris Brown was an ideal candidate for the once empty position left by Richard. In the same news release, Ravi expressed his enthusiasm for bringing Chris on board: “His experience with leading technology companies and extensive knowledge in areas such as M&A, strategic partnerships, IP portfolio management, corporate governance and policy development will be valuable as we continue to grow our business and technologies to help our customers bring their breakthrough innovations to life. I look forward to working with Chris on the continued transformation of our corporation.”

Chris Brown brings Allegro hands-on experience in multiple public finance and acquisition transactions gained from his previous position with a world-leader in optical communications components and subsystems, Finisar Corporation. Overall, Chris brings 25 years of legal experience working with leading technology companies to his current role, as the head of Allegro’s corporate legal function.
