Surge Components Inc. (Deer Park, NY) announced that Alan Plafker has joined its board of directors. Plafker has been appointed as a member of the board’s audit and compensation committees. As a result of his appointment to the audit committee, Surge remains in full compliance with the audit-committee independent director composition requirements of the Nasdaq marketplace rules.
Plafker is president and CEO of Member Brokerage Service LLC, a credit union service organization owned by Melrose Credit Union. Plafker has over 20 years of management experience in the insurance and credit union industries.
