Agilent Names Bill Sullivan New CEO

Agilent Technologies Inc. (Palo Alto, CA) announced that Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Bill Sullivan will take over as President and Chief Executive Officer from current CEO Ned Barnholt, who is retiring. The change in management will be effective March 1, 2005. Chairman, President and CEO Barnholt will retire from all three positions.

James Cullen, a member of Agilent's board of directors since 2000, will assume the position of Non-Executive Chairman upon Barnholt's retirement. At that time, Sullivan will also join the board; Barnholt will stay on as Chairman Emeritus during the transition.
