AEP Board Elects Morris as Chairman

The board of directors of American Electric Power Co. (AEP, Columbus, OH) elected Michael Morris Chairman of the Board. Morris is AEP's president and chief executive officer. Morris joined AEP as president and CEO on January 1, 2004, following the resignation of former president and CEO Linn Draper Jr. The election of Morris as chairman follows Draper's resignation from that position.
