August 11, 2013 by Jeff Shepard

The Tenth Annual Darnell’s Power Forum (DPF ’13) will feature three days of presentations on GaN, SiC and GaAs developments starting with a preconference seminar on Monday September 9, and continuing for the next two days. The information on GaN will begin immediately with the start of DPF ’13 on Monday morning, September 9 at 9 am with a design seminar on “GaN Transistors for Efficient Power Conversion,” presented by Alex Lidow, CEO, EPC Corporation and David Reusch, Director of Applications, EPC Corporation. The following day, the Plenary Session will include a presentation titled “GaN: Crushing Silicon One Application at a Time.”

The coverage of GaN, SiC and GaAs will culminate with a complete afternoon of papers on Wednesday September 11 in two sessions moderated by Bodo Arlt, Dipl.-Ing., Publishing Editor, Bodo’s Power Systems® magazine. Session 9 will cover GaN and GaAs and it will be followed by Session 10 on GaN and SiC. These sessions will feature speakers from Transphorm, Sarda Technologies, International Rectifier, Cree, Efficient Power Conversion and Fairchild Semiconductor. The schedule of technical papers at DPF ’13 is HERE.

DPF ‘13 is part of Darnell’s Energy Summit (DES ’13). DES ’13 is a combined event including the Fifth Green Building Power Forum (GBPF '13) + the Fourth Smart Grid Electronics Forum (SGEF '13), in addition to the Tenth Annual Darnell’s Power Forum. In addition to 3 days of practical information for using leading-edge GaN, SiC and GaAs power semiconductors, DES ’13 will feature:

FOUR DAYS of Digital Power starting with a pre-conference seminar, http://energysummit.darnell.com/sched-seminars.php, continuing for the next three days, cumulating with the release of the preliminary specifications for PMBus V1.3 on Thursday.

THREE DAYS of presentations on dc powering and dc microgrids for data centers, buildings and alternative energy starting with the Keynote and Plenary and continuing for the next two days:

TWO DAYS of information on Building Automation and Integration with the Smart Grid starting with the Keynote and Plenary sessions and continuing throughout the following day.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity. Registration is open HERE.

“With a single registration, you can attend any sessions of interest during these simultaneous leading-edge events," stated Jeff Shepard, President of Darnell Group. "Plus you'll have access to the combined Exhibit Hall and will have an opportunity to network with an outstanding group of international experts in a wide range of power electronics, DC building power, and smart grid technologies," Shepard concluded.
