February 14, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Nanjing Zhongxu Microelectronics Co. Ltd. (China) announced the HVC-020 and HVC-25H voltage sensors, which feature an insulation resistance >500 megohms. The devices measure ac, dc and impulse voltages making them suitable for use in automatic control systems, over-voltage protection, variable speed motors, power sources, inverted welders and energy management.

The devices are members of the HVC Series and are based on Hall-effect sensors. They have a response time of 20µs and are rated for operation at ±15Vdc, <±5 percent fluctuation, at a temperature range of -40 to +5 degrees C. The HVC-020 offers a 5mA nominal input current, 20mA output current and 2:5 turns ratio. The HVC-25H has a nominal input current of 10mA and an output of 25mA, as well as 1:4 turns ratio.
