Zetex Presents ZXM64N035 and ZXM64P035 MOSFETs

March 26, 2002 by Jeff Shepard

Zetex Inc. (Hauppauge, NY) has launched a series of four n-channel and p-channel MOSFETs providing all the performance demanded by Class D audio systems. The 35V breakdown voltage, low on-resistance and gate charge requirement of the parts ensure that they will deliver up to 100W.

Suitabel for 5.1 home theater systems, the ZXM64N035 and ZXM64P035 devices are offered in the SOT223 package for 50W music channels and in the TO220 format to meet the higher power requirements of the sub-woofer (up to 100W).

Combining the low on-resistance and fast switching capability of the Zetex Planar MOSFET process, the new parts provide a high efficiency output stage for the company’s ZXCD1000 Class D audio controller IC. The compatibility of MOSFET gate charge capacitance and controller output means no intermediate gate driver is required.

The 1,000-piece price for the ZXM64N305 and ZXM64PO35 is $0.60 each. Delivery of both devices is quoted at four to six weeks in production volumes.
