Wide-Body IGBT/MOSFET Driver features 10 mm External Creepage

March 24, 2014 by Jeff Shepard

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today broadened its optoelectronics portfolio with the VOW3120-X017T, a new IGBT and MOSFET driver for motor drives, alternative energy, welding equipment, and other high working voltage applications. The VOW3120-X017T features a minimum 10 mm clearance and external creepage distance. In addition to its high isolation distance, it provides high isolation voltage ratings of VIORM = 1414V and VIOTM = 8000V, for applications operating at higher working voltages and/or with higher pollution degree environments.

In addition to providing superior isolation, employing reliable and time-tested optoelectronic technology, the VOW3120-X017T also incorporates state-of-the-art electrical performance. The noise isolation capabilities of the VOW3120 components are well demonstrated by the device's typical high common-mode noise-rejection values of 50 kV/μs.

The VOW3120-X017T's low current consumption of 2.5 mA makes it a practical choice in power design applications where high-efficiency operation is required. The VOW3120-X017T boasts typical delays of less than 250 ns and rise and fall times of less than 100 ns, making the device ideal for applications where fast switching of IGBTs is required. Samples and production quantities of the VOW3120-X017T are available now, with lead times of four to six weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery only in 1,000-piece quantities is $2.75 per piece.
