New Products Jun 21, 2005 by Jeff Shepard

Wall Industries Inc. (Exeter NH) launched its new Distributed-power Open Standards Alliance (DOSA)-compatible POL Series of dc-dc converters, which have two input ranges available of 2.4 Vdc to 5.5 Vdc and 8.3 Vdc to 14 Vdc. The output ranges are adjustable from 0.75 Vout to 5 Vout via an external resistor. The series is designed for use in many applications, and is available with output currents of 6 A, 10 A or 16 A, and efficiencies of up to 95%.

The POL converters are available in surface-mount or through-hole packages, and all models conform to the DOSA industry standards. Additional features include tight line/load regulation, no minimum load requirements, low output ripple and noise, compliance with the RoHS lead-free directive, remote on/off, over-voltage and over-temperature protection, and operation within a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.

The POL Series, in OEM quantities, is priced at $7.55 to $13.30, depending upon the output current.
